A Study of Grasses in the Landscape

A recent visit to the Omaha Zoo was a true study of how to use grasses in the landscape.

The colors and textures of the grasses complement the season.

The plumes of the two grasses pictured above reveal the amazing variablility of grasses.

The short grass in front echoes the vibrant maple in the distance.

The feathery miscanthus plumes are my favorite.

Although there are no plumes on this grass, the fall color is brilliant!

No wonder fall is the favorite season of so many!

This image demonstrates how the variety of short and tall grasses can be utilized in our home landscapes.
